Notes:
Questions I may be asked by the client:
- How have you linked your proposal to north London?
- After all the sub genres have been used up what will your magazine focus on?
- How would u go about expanding your magazine beyond North London?
- Why is this more interesting than other popular magazines?
- Why have you chosen this colour scheme?
- What made you focus on sub genres not areas?
- Are these marketing methods strong enough to make an impact on your product?
Answers to the questions I may be asked by the client:
- As every monthly edition is different to the one before, each sub genre that is being mentioned will be specific to what is popular and outgoing in North London at that time, therefore, because of this the focus of the magazine is North London it is only focusing on the data shown in North London and what people are interested in, therefore I have lined my proposal to North London as there are no other areas which the magazines is focusing on.
- In many more months to come, and the majority of rap sub genres have been used in every monthly edition and there are no more unique sub genres to focus on, the magazine will start to focus on different aspects of the sub genres such as well as the contrast between one another showing the similarities and differences between one another. The magazine will continue focusing on the sub genres as this gives ‘Wrapped Up’ the diversity of other magazine and gives it the unique touch and unique selling point. Because of this when all the sub genres have been mentioned in the monthly editions the main focus of it will be the contrasts.
- One way I would expand my magazine would be as right now the magazine is only focussing on a specific link to North London therefore one way I would expand ‘Wrapped Up’ is by mentioning many other areas and links to different countries not just North London this would expand my magazine as it would create more publicity and would be appealing to a larger audience in different countries and because of this the magazine "Wrapped Up" would have expanded and sales linking would have increased.
- The majority of other magazines only focus on one aspect, such as just the genre, venues or the role models, therefore because of this this North London based magazine is more interesting as it is not just focusing on one specific aspect but many at the same time to engages a range of audiences when reading. This is more interesting than other magazine out right now as it has its own quality towards it and is different from the other outgoing magazines.
- I have chosen these specific colours of red, black, yellow and green as they all the colours of rap especially red and black, the colours red and black simbolise darkness and suspicion therefore it links into the connotation of rap. All these colours contracts against one another therefore grabbing peoples attention and keeping them interested especially the green and yellow as they are bright and eye catching. When seeing these colours on the front cover you are imagining a loud and booming genre based magazine which we are trying to create therefore because of these colours it is portraying an image we are trying to create in the magazine of life and liveliness.
- In North London there is a gap in the market for this type of magazine, and many venue based magazines are repetitive with the idea that every edition is repeating what they are saying about the venues, and because of this the sales and profit would start off high and slow decrease as people would not stay interested in the magazine. Therefore I focused on a sub genre magazine as it would keep people interested.
- My marketing methods consist of handing out fliers to rap genres related concerts, handing out fliers to popular youth clubs in North London as well as paid media advertising within snapchat and instagram on their phones. Therefore these marketing methods would be strong enough to make an impact as firstly as the fliers would be handed out in popular rap related concert this would be addressing the prime target audience of the ages 15-18 year olds. Secondly another marketing methods which would make an impact would be paid advertising on snap chat and instagram, this is addressing the prime target audience as in the age their lives revolve around media and being on their phones.
The difference between the first powerpoint to the second:
- I have reduced the amount of writing on each slide
- More photographs have been added to every slide to make it more visually appealing
- The background colour of the slides have been changed to a more interesting colour
- I have added slides about the magazine name, front cover, double page spread
- I made a clear link to north London to complete the brief
- I also gave the magazine its own unique selling point to make it different from the other magazines
- The competition of the magazine had been changed which directly links into my magazine
- Advertising, sponsors and marketing were also added to the slide to show how the magazine was going to get publicity
- To cover the client brief I added the mood board to show where I got my inspiration from about the colour scheme and images.
- I had drawn a layout for the front cover and double page spread as well as a digital copy.
